Blog of my life

Yay! Gov project is done! Now for a nice, relaxing friday w/ lots of sleep. This morning I went to gov and sat though a bunch of presentations. It was interesting. More interesting than normal class, at least. Was able to stay mostly awake despite my lack of sleep. Later, I went home, took a 2 hour nap, then went and passed out flyers for the Jenny Lin Youth Concert and look for sponsers. Some of the people were pretty nice and thanks to all the businesses who sponsored us! Then I went home and slept for another 4 hours...eek. Must be really bad on my internal clock. Need to get my sleep back into the nightime. Also got to stop updating this thing after 12 so that my entries actually appear on the day I talk about. Ah well. Let's just all pretend that the date up there says Thursday, July 5. Now, to read and maybe get some sleep. I got Of Love and other Demons by Gabriel García Márquez (hey I actually remembered how to make those acentos on the keyboard) for reading. Looks interesting.

Do Nothing day

Not much happened today. My summer school is closed every friday to conserve energy during the energy crisis, so I get every friday off! ^_^. Heh. Friday is officially my new favorite day of the week. So...slept in to about 12:30, read some of Of Love and Other Demons , watched a bunch of Evangelion, practiced piano etc. etc.

About 5:30, I went down to Chabot to go to the LC freshman welcome. It was pretty fun and I got to see some people I hadn't seen for awhile since school got out. LC is the youth group I try to go to. I don't know. During the past school year, I hadn't gone that much 1) because of how busy junior year was and 2) because of personal family problems regarding transportation to and from the program. Ah well. Should be nicer now that it's summer. Anyway, got to talk to a few people and got a JP picture. It's soo cute! Thanx mucho! Also got lectured by one of my friends on Mad Cow Disease since all they had there were hamburgers. Ah well. Hopefully, nothing will happen. Lesse...yeah...while we were there, I saw some friends from school there on a picnic. It was interesting...they were waving at the whole group of us as we were doing worship and we all waved back. I dunno...was a weird experience sort of.

Then I went home and played The Sims for awhile. Really fun game. I have this one house with 8 people in it (the max I was allowed to fit in) and it's really hectic. Only problem is that it crashes every once in awhile when I play with that family, but ah well. That's pretty much it for today. I think I'll try to get to sleep at a decent time for once so I'll be awake for my piano lesson.

Independence Day!

Just got back from watching fireworks in Jack London Square. We were sort of far away from the fireworks, but all around us people were blowing up their own, so it was a very loud and bright night. The traffic out from there was a nightmare though. We got in our car at 9:50, when the show ended, and didn't leave the parking lot until 10:55. We just waited in line and didn't move at all for about 45 minutes, then suddenly moved a bit...then stopped...and finally moved all the way out. I think they needed better traffic directors. But it was a nice show, i guess. Maybe i was expecting a little more in the way of music or something, but I may have been too far away to hear it. Right now i'm sooooo sleepy, but i HAVE to stay awake and work on my government project. It's so mean of them to assign big projects to be due the day after Fourth of July. ::sigh:: guess i'd better get to work then.

Ah, a new day...I have exactly 8 minutes to write this log before the next "day". Okay, today, went to summer school. Found out our government test that I'm ready for that was suppose to be last thrusday but got moved to tomorrow will now be NEXT tuesday, and the project that I'd really like some extra time on will still be due in 3 days. -_-; ::sigh:: life's just not fair like that. ah well. Anyway, after that, went home, took a nap, and went off to Jenny Lin Concert rehersal. It was a good rehersal and we got a fair amount of work done. Also, all the coordinators are getting together to do a small group song. We "auditioned" today, but after going through it, one of the directors said that we were already in the show. I'm glad we ran through it, though, because we *really* need practice. Today was the first day everyone in the group was able to make it. Okay, now got 3 minutes according to my clock, so i'm signing off w/ a favorite link from gamespy.com. Here you go! Enjoy!: puppy vs. quake 3

darg...this archive system is really weird. I guess this is geared toward people who have lots of short entires rather than a long entry every day...wish i could put archives in chonological order by day...grr. But i'll figure all this stuff out soon. I hope.

hmm...note to self: see if I can get the little calender thing on the bottom right of the editing page on my archives page. would make archive organization much easier...the search button is nice too...hmm...

Yay! got my blog archives to be the right color. ::sigh:: it's been too long since i tried to make a webpage. that plus the fact that this computer has virtually NO decent programs on it. For finding colors, I had to use mspaint's pallate thing to find rgb values for the colors i liked and then used my graphing calculator to convert those numbers into hex to put it on my website...and all just to get it the same color...there's gotta be an easier way...maybe i can dl a free webpage maker or something like that...ah well. But, going by my record of making 1 thing work a day, this has been okay...because today I 1) figured out how to work archives and 2) got the stuff to be the right color. ::sigh:: like i said...been off the web too long. Hopefully, after this week, i'll be able to just post and leave it at that...nice and hassle free like it's suppose to be. Now, sleep time

Waiting

Waiting for my group project people to come online. Wonder where they are. Hm... Well, today was a normal day. Went to summer school. The first hour was actually really cool because we got to discuss Civil Rights issues. The teacher gave us a senario and we had to figure out whether the person's rights were being violated. After that, it was back to the same old lectures, though....bleh. Ah well. Afterward I went home, took a nap, and then dragged my brother out of the house. He doesn't have summer school so has been stuck to the computer almost all summer playing Starcraft. So, feeling that he was in need of some exercise, I dragged him out into the sunlight and we jogged around the block for half an hour. Oh, and one of my dad's old college buddies is visiting from Taiwan, so I think i'm going to meet him later. He was suppose to visit yesterday, but there was something wrong with our phone line so he couldn't reach us. The phones get werid every once in a while...like, total silence...no dial tone, nothing. It's sort of annoying also because people can call in and it sounds like the phone is ringing, but we don't hear anything and nothing happens when we pick up. Hasn't happened in awhile, but suddenly cropped up again...actually, sunday, not yesterday.

hmm...hear my dad coming with guests. gtg

Hee hee, my first weblog entry. This is an interesting experience. I had been thinking getting a weblog for awhile now as a bunch of my friends had suddenly gotten weblogs this year, and I really liked reading them. However, with school and all that, I never really got a chance to get one going. However, this summer so far has been really interesting and...well, in a burst of nostalgia, I decided that I wanted to commit as much of this summer to memory as possible. As I have a really bad memory, this weblog will hopefully be my mini-memory and keep my thoughts stored. Now, to see if this post button works. Signing off...

Yay! it worked! Now to actually talk about my day. Well, today I had to wake up around 9:00 to meet Florence and Jeff at Jeff's house for our Government class project. We were really unproductive, but we got about two pages of scribbles and a general outline done. We also listed to a LOT of music...Florence intorduced me to J-pop! heh. We also listed to some other stuff. I tried to introduce Jeff to RENT, but I don't think he liked it. I just saw RENT at the Orpheum last wednesday and it was fantastic! Great cast and all. I enjoyed it a lot more than the last time I saw it at Golden Gate Theater two years ago because 1) last time I was in the waaay back and couldn't see anything while this time I was in the third row! and 2) I know the story line this time and so could better tell what was going on. The cast, IMO, was much better too, but I don't know how much of this opinion is due to the fact that I could barely make out the shapes of the cast on stage from my near back row seat two years ago. But...yeah...anyway, it was GREAT! I also saw AI yesterday. Very good movie. A lot of people don't seem to like it, though. I dunno. I really enjoyed it...it was very sad though...cried soo many times in it...::sigh::. So, yeah...getting back to my day...After working on my group project, I went home, tutored for three hours, then went over to Tina's house to rehearse a song for the annual Jenny Lin Youth Concert.

Jenny Lin was a very nice girl and talented musician when she was murdered in her home over seven years ago. Her murderer was never caught. In her memory, her family founded the Jenny Lin Foundation , dedicated to promoting child safety and music in the community. They also started the annual concert to keep her memory alive and allow students to get together over the summer to share music. For more information about the foundation, the concert, or how to give clues about the still unsolved case, go to http://www.aimnet.com/~jhlin/hometext.htm.

So...that brings me to where I am now, at home, eating a nice snack, and working on my government homework. 'till later
